Dublin Airport Insight

The Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) uses HITT’s Airport Collaborative Decision Making (CDM) solution to evaluate operations on a daily basis and to be able to generate reports on each flight. The system offers a database of flights and vehicle movements. As an ANSP, IAA is keen to optimize Runway Occupancy Times, Inbound- and Outbound taxiway delays. The system provides IAA with a better insight in the operations, resulting in cost reductions and service improvement.

Moscow - Domodedovo A-SMGCS

The A3000 A-SMGCS for Moscow's Domodedovo airport, one of the three airports in the area, has many features that set it apart. Firstly, it is the first foreign A-SMGCS to ever achieve type approval from the Russian Interstate Aviation Committee (MAK). Secondly, it has a bi-lingual user interface in Russian and English. Controllers can switch languages as they work. Thirdly, the system operates in harsh Russian winters, where temperatures can easily drop to -40 °C.

Copenhagen Airport Insight

Copenhagen Kastrup Airport operator CPH uses HITT’s real-time traffic viewer as an Airport CDM tool to optimize the operations of many of its internal departments and external clients. Better scheduling of bus operations and improved scheduling of ground handling activities are key benefits that lower operational cost and offer a better service to its growing number of passengers.

Frankfurt A-SMGCS Upgrade

This order entailed the upgrade of the Surface Movement Radar system with a second Terma radar installation, the new TargHITT tracker and an advanced Runway Incursion Monitoring (RIM) system.

HITT traffic was responsible for customising and delivering the new components, as well as the integration with the SMR and multilateration systems of the airport’s A-SMGCS.

Frankfurt A-SMGCS

Frankfurt Airport is one of the busiest airports in Europe. The customer for our A-SMGCS, Deutsche Flugsicherung, expects high standards from the quality of the system, including maximum availability. HITT Traffic paid special attention to the integrity of the data links. The system uses separate networks for radar video and other data. Both networks have a fault tolerant implementation which also is duplicated.

Cairo International Airport A-SMGCS

Cairo International is the second busiest airport in Africa after Johannesburg International Airport in South Africa. It has four runways. The new fourth runway, south of the existing airfield, is 4,000m by 65m and suitable for the Airbus A380.

In order to enhance the safe and expeditious flow of traffic at Cairo International Airport the Authorities ordered an Advanced Surface Movement Guidance and Control system. The system incorporates vehicle tracking.

Bergen - Flesland A-SMGCS

The A3000 A-SMGCS that HITT supplied to Bergen Airport includes a complete radar tower and Terma radar with frequency diversity to provide Surface Movement Radar (SMR) coverage with optimal object detection.

A unique feature of the system is a special Runway Incursion Monitoring (RIM) system that is suited to helicopter operations. This is important, Bergen has many helicopter movements whose flight patterns differ strongly from those of aircraft.

Stavanger - Sola A-SMGCS

Stavanger is Norway's oldest and third largest airport, and, in addition to fixed-wing aircraft, it has significant helicopter traffic for the offshore North Sea oil installations. In addition, the Royal Norwegian Air Force operates Sea King rescue helicopters from the Sola Air Station. As an option to the Bergen project, Avinor AS ordered the replacement the processing and display system at Stavanger airport from HITT.

Ciudad Real SMR

Ciudad Real Central Airport (previously known as Don Quijote Airport) is a new airport south of Madrid. It is the first international private airport in Spain. The single runway services national and international commercial flights.

HITT supplies the ground movement radar for this airport.

Leipzig A-SMGCS

The order for the Leipzig airport included a Terma radar and a new TargHITT tracker. The new components were provided with interfaces to the airport’s air traffic control systems and are prepared for future integration with a multilateration system.

DHL selected Leipzig to be their central hub for Germany. This  boosted cargo handling at Leipzig enormously. Besides cargo, Leipzig airport handles two million passengers per year.
